In this life of constant sorrow
Will I see yet, a new tomorrow

Within His sight I still remain
Please, lighten this heart of ache and pain

Lord, what is this that takes me down
Where joy is lost, no happiness found

All, in life, seems so wrong
A place of comfort I do long



Comfort, I ask, will you give to me
As I approach you, on bended knee

Each day comes and then goes by
All I keep asking of you, is why

Life is so demanding
But, with faith, I learn understanding

Perhaps it is to make me stronger
Can I bear it any longer



And as time passes, I do pray
To help me through this everyday

Now, this path before me, there has turned
In midst of this darkness, I have learned

As I came upon a person, sad
Feeling more pain, than they ever had

With understanding and my Lord's love
I know of this pain, they speak of



There would come a day
A person, so dear, would feel the same way

I could help them best
Because...
I had been down and depressed

As I humbly ask, for guidance, in prayer
Because, it's a place, I have been there

I reach out, friend, to hold your hand
I do understand
