Take away pain
Take away sadness
Take away sorrow

What will be on the horizon
For the morrow

Take away crime
Take away war
Take away hate

As long as there is breath
It's never too late

Take away poverty
Take away hunger
Take away indifference too

If a heart is still beating
These things we can do

Take away heartache
Take away fears

Take away, take away
Take away tears

And if we take away anything
From all of this
Let it be the knowledge in knowing

It is the seeds of compassion
We need to be sowing

The eyes of a child
Can say a thousand things
They need not, utter a word

This silent voice
Must be heard
