Just as the ol' cuckoo clock struck ten
I was feelin' like a real sleepy head

I knew it was time for me
To go off to bed

Then I noticed the old cat
staring at the moon
I wondered, what's on his mind

He moved not a muscle,
"How strange," I thought
What was he hoping to find

And then, with a twinkle in his eye
he looked right at me
And began to say ....

"I heard some very good news
Just the other day"

"Someone told me the moon's
made of cheese
I was thinking, oh boy, how nice

If I sit here and watch long enough
I'll surely see some mice!!"

I kid you not, that's what he said
Whilst sitting there
in the nighttime breeze

And if you believe that, then I bet
You ALSO think the moon
is made of cheese!!

So that's your little beddy-bye story
Before you go nighty, night

I'll see you tomorrow, same place, right here
Good Night Now, Sleep Tight!
