Dad's gonna cook the dinner
He's playin' chef today
He said he will do
*** EVERYTHING ***
Preparing a fine buffet

Now Mom was not real sure of this
Because he's cooked "dinner" before
He sends her out of the kitchen
Then shuts the kitchen door

So Mom sits down to relax for a while
Turns on the TV set ..... just as her movie began
He yells out, from the kitchen
"HON......
WHERE'S THE ROASTING PAN?!?!?"

Up she gets.... goes right to the cabinet
The same place it's been for years
Already there's a mess on the floor
Now begins her fears

Back she sits...her movie's on
It's been playing for about a minute
"Hon !!!" he yells, "Question here,
For the roast, how many onions in it?"

"ONE" she yells back
shakin' her head........
Then says to me,
"Dad's "cookin' " dinner ...
This is somethin' I dread"

Long story short.....
I really could go on and on
But, I think you get the idea
When dinner was all cooked
Mom was just about in tears
when she saw how the kitchen looked

When Dad makes dinner....
Not a lot, mind you - He Uses ....
Every pan - Every bowl - Every spoon
Every dish - Every skillet
'Cause he starts without a plan
And everything he picks up...
For sure, he's gonna spill it

He jumps right in gettin' everything out
Spillin' and messin' - 'til the kitchen's a sight
And poor ol' Mom will be cleanin' the mess....
Hours and hours past midnight !!!

Yes....Mom thinks the world of Dad
Loves him to pieces, 'cause he's a winner
But she gave him a hug and kiss and said..
"Sweetheart, if you really love me.....
From now on, let me cook dinner"

Now, YOU Have A Great Day
And SMILE!
